If you've been keeping track of our Borderlands 3 weapon overview articles, you'll know that weirdness is the name of the game. Literally! Borderlands 3 Tediore, however, takes the cake. With a completely ridiculous gimmick, Tediore has come to its logical evolution in Borderlands 3. Namely, their guns have legs, bounce off of things, and cannot be reloaded. How about that!

The catch is that, if you really need to blow things up fast, Tediore may be just what you're looking for. Of course, much as is the case with Hyperion, you're gonna have to adapt. That's half the fun, though, if you ask us! If you're reading this at the time of publishing, you should check out our Borderlands 3 discount. It's part of our awesome 2K Games Sale, which also offers a variety of other flagship releases.

That aside, let us tell you all you need to know about Tediore in Borderlands 3!

Who the hell came up with Borderlands 3 Tediore?

Borderlands 3 Tediore

Using a Tediore gun in Borderlands 3 means embracing the goofy nature of the game. Here we have a gun manufacturer that specializes in producing cheap, off-the-shelf weaponry for civilian defense. This was apparent ever since the first Borderlands, of course, but the company has really doubled-down on how cheap their guns are by the events of Borderlands 3. Those who've played previous titles will recall that you cannot even reload a Tediore. That's not a joke, you legitimately cannot reload their guns.

Instead, what happens when you empty the magazine is that you throw the gun away for it to Digistruct in your hand once more, fully-loaded.  That's a gimmick, alright. Nowadays, Tediore has upgraded this functionality with more modifiers than ever before. Depending on what gun you have, it might grow legs, bounce around, or turn into a mini-rocket when "reloaded".

None of the other manufacturers come even close to this level of gameplay weirdness, and it's hard not to love Tediore for this reason alone. Furthermore, we're happy to say that these guns can, in fact, perform phenomenally well, despite what it might sound like. Sure, there's an element of randomness to using a Tediore, but you definitely can adapt and overcome these gimmicky features.

What does a Tediore do, then?

Obviously, a Tediore will shoot. It will also perform one of the following actions on reload, alongside other upgrades and attachments it might roll with:

  • Turn into a grenade
  • Grow legs and run around, shooting at enemies
  • Fly around and home-in on enemies
  • Turn into a bouncy grenade

Any Tediore gun can roll with any of these reload effects, and they work in conjunction with any other perks the gun might drop with. For example, if your Legendary Long Musket SMG rolls with elemental damage, its reload effect will use that type of damage, too! This can make for some truly wild and incredibly devastating combos.

It will take a while, but by the time you learn how to aim your Tediore post-reload, you will make use of its gimmicks perfectly. Firing a single bullet and continuously lobbing your Tediore pistol at a boss is a perfectly valid strategy!

Can anybody use a Tediore Gun well?

As we said above, there's a very noticeable learning curve when it comes to using Tediore guns. Even more so than is the case with Hyperion's anti-recoil attachments. If you'd like to play Borderlands 3 using generic, no-fuss weaponry, we'd advise you go with Dahl guns instead. Tediore will definitely be frustrating if you're not keen on gimmicky gameplay.

On the flip side, you definitely can get extremely proficient at using one of these bad boys. Similarly, if you do somehow get bored of Borderlands 3's amazing gameplay loop, Tediore is just the thing to kick you out of that lull. If nothing else, it's ridiculously fun to hear a gun verbally abuse bandits as it runs after them, ready to blow. Precisely what you'd expect out of a Borderlands game, no?

We've been reviewing Borderlands 3 Gun manufacturers for a few weeks now, and we're slowly getting through them all. Here's the list of articles we recommend you check out for a primer:
