Dragon's Dogma 2 is, quite easily, one of the biggest and most important releases of the year, and it should be no surprise at all that we are all excited about it. Now, to be perfectly honest, we are slightly worried about the game's remarkably steep PC hardware requirements, but we already have plans to test it out on a variety of gaming configurations, including the Steam Deck, an RTX 2060 laptop, and higher-grade hardware, such as the RTX 4070 GPU. On that front, the 2Game editorial team has got you covered.
With no official early reviews out and about just yet, though, we don't know how Dragon's Dogma 2 gameplay compares to its predecessor. Except when it comes to character customization and rendering, that is, since Capcom's published an early build of the game's phenomenal Character Creator feature. That's right: you can build your Dragon's Dogma 2 characters right now, and then import them into the full game once it's out, on March 22. Here's how it all works!

How to Use the Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator?
The pre-release Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator is a standalone Steam app that allows you to build your in-game character days ahead of the game's official release! As per the listing from Capcom itself, this is the full-featured Character Creator we'll all get access to in Dragon's Dogma 2 proper, though it's missing some of the more technical options that don't have an effect on the editor's content and functionality.
According to Capcom, "the character data created in this app can be transferred to the base game of Dragon's Dogma 2, available separately." Naturally, you will have to purchase Dragon's Dogma 2 to actually use the characters you create in the Character Creator, but that should be self-explanatory in the first place.

Are all Character Build options available now?
Something to keep in mind here is that, even though some of the technical options are missing from the Character Creator, the actual features and functionality of the upcoming in-game editor are all present and accounted for. Capcom specifies that "in the main game there will be additional graphic options available," with the editor currently running on a stripped-down version of the Dragon's Dogma 2 engine just to keep it all in one piece.
To that end, Dragon's Dogma 2 proper will not be more feature-rich or heavy than the pre-release Character Creator. You can create the perfect rendition of your Arisen right now and simply import them into the full game on March 22. This will allow you to spend hours (upon hours) of time editing your in-game avatar before being able to play the game at all! And, as soon as March 22 hits, you'll be set and primed to depart into the world of Dragon's Dogma 2 without faffing about with the size of your Arisen's ears! Extremely useful stuff, we think.
Can you make Pawns, too?
Pawns are, of course, an extremely important aspect of any given Dragon's Dogma game. As the franchise is a dedicated single-player experience with no multiplayer of any sort, players get to join forces with humanoid extensions of their Arisen's willpower: the Pawns. Pawns are, thus, NPC compatriots that will assist you in your journey, and they are fully customizable to boot, with all the visual customizations afforded to the Arisen player avatar.
The pre-release version of Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator lets you create your Main Pawn alongside your Arisen, too, and you get to import both of them into the full game upon its release.
In other words, you can spend all the time you need in the Character Creator before the game comes out in full. Once that happens, you'll have the opportunity to simply flash forward into gameplay, but without losing out on valuable character customization in doing so!
