Even though 2021 has ended up being an incredible year for PC gaming, all the signs point towards 2022 being even better in this niche, if you can believe that. To paint a clearer picture, we've decided to summarize all the most anticipated 2022 games (on PC) that you, too, ought to keep an eye out for!

Monster Hunter: Rise - January 12th
There's not much that needs to be said about Capcom's next flagship Monster Hunter release on PC. Namely, Rise is already out on Nintendo Switch, and the PC build will, for all intents and purposes, offer precisely what the Switch build offers. Except better, of course.
Monster Hunter: Rise is already a fan favorite, and its PC release come early 2022 is bound to establish this fact even further. This game is a surefire slam dunk for Capcom, and for PC gamers as well!

OlliOlli World - February 8th
If you're not much into AAA gaming nowadays, you'll be thrilled to hear that 2022 is already brimming with promising indie/AA releases, not least of which is OlliOlli: World. This incredibly promising reinvention of a tried-and-true skateboarding sidescroller is looking mighty fine indeed.
Namely, the developers want to focus on customization and personalization on top of inventive multiplayer/progression mechanics. So, what we're getting here is slick gameplay with plenty of things to chase after. Does it get better than that, then?

Total War: Warhammer III - February 17th
Total War has always been synonymous with grand, epic warfare. Never has this been the case to such a ridiculous extent, however, as with the Warhammer sub-series. Total War: Warhammer III has its sights set on being the best and most comprehensive grand strategy game ever created.
Will it succeed? Well, from where we're standing, Creative Assembly cannot mess this up, even if they wanted to. Warhammer III is going to unify all of its predecessors into one ultra-super-campaign with a ridiculous amount of content. Warhammer fantasy fans are in for a ride, and we have no doubt that this is one of the most anticipated 2022 games across the board.

GRID: Legends - February 24th
The next iteration of the venerable GRID motorsport franchise is set to shiver our timbers come late February. Featuring a more pronounced focus on narrative progression and team rivalry, GRID: Legends may well offer something that few other racing games have managed to offer: a good story.
Of course, that's all going to be backed by the series' legendary driving model, events, and trademark team-driven seasonals, if you'd excuse the pun. GRID: Legends is the game to look out for if you're into racing titles.

Elden Ring - February 25th
Following its incredibly promising beta testing session, we're more excited about Elden Ring than ever before. From Software's next role-playing game is almost too ambitious, except everything fits into place. The game may as well have been called Dark Souls 4, from everything we've seen of it so far!
Of course, we knew what we were getting into with a From Software ARPG. It's just that it's such a massive relief to see them do something as complicated and involved as open-world gameplay phenomenally well. On top of that, the game still retains classic From gameplay we all know and love.
Marvel's Midnight Suns - March 10th
Marvel's Midnight Suns is the next project that Firaxis is working on, if you could believe that. Yes - the Firaxis. The good folk behind the XCOM and Civilization franchises, indeed. From what little we've seen of the game so far, Midnight Suns is going to be an evolution of Firaxis' XCOM - Chimera Squad.
Effectively, we're getting a more grimdark Marvel narrative featuring grittier heroes than most people are used to. Wolverine, Blade, and Ghost Rider will all be making an appearance, just to name a few. An easy entry onto our list of most anticipated 2022 games, we feel.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok - March 10th
The mere existence of this expansion pack is a massive spoiler for AC: Valhalla, though not necessarily an unexpected one. Namely, during the massive epic that is Valhalla, the protagonist - Eivor - gets to see into his past life as Odin/Havi himself. These weren't major expeditions, however, and that's precisely what Dawn of Ragnarok aims to correct.
Namely, Dawn of Ragnarok may as well have been a standalone product. Instead, Ubisoft decided to use it as the ultimate send-off for one of their finest games of all time. This DLC for AC: Valhalla will put you into the boots of Odin proper, and let you immerse yourself into the pre-human Earth of old.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands - March 25th
After Borderlands 3's surprisingly short shelf-life, Gearbox has chosen the franchise reinvention route. In a way. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a humongous expansion of one of the best DLCs for Borderlands 2, if you can believe that. This time, the game is going to lean heavily into the fantasy side of things.
There's no telling yet if this will work out. After all, Borderlands is all about guns, and fantasy doesn't necessarily lend itself to gunplay. Still, we're looking at a comprehensive mish-mash of all manner of things that don't make that much sense on their own. Will it be fun, though? You bet!

Starfield - November 11th
Guys and gals, this is it. Quite possibly the game that will define 2022. The long-murmured, often-mentioned Bethesda space RPG. Starfield is going to take the world by storm, that much we know. Early leaks suggest huge overworlds with controllable spaceships, base-building, and all the immersive sim elements we've come to know and love in previous Bethesda outings.
Not much has been revealed about Starfield as of right now. What we do know, however, is that Bethesda has a hell of a track record. Make no mistake - Starfield is the company's next huge flagship, and they aim to win 2022, even with all the incredible competition they're getting from other titles on this list.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - N/A
In hindsight, Darktide certainly feels like the obvious next step for a game development house that previously worked on Vermintide games, doesn't it? Cementing their place on our list of most anticipated 2022 games, Fatshark is now producing their first Warhammer 40,000 outing, and it is looking mighty fine indeed.
Players will take control over mismatched warriors yet once more, this time armed with a way more comprehensive selection of firearms both conventional and exotic. Are we excited at the prospect? Just look at Vermintide to see how well this concept can work, and you'll understand where we're coming from!
