At long last, it has come to this. The team here at 2Game is finally ready to reveal our second annual revision of the top 100 PC games of all time. Specifically, what we've got for you here is a comprehensive update of the list, featuring all-new games released throughout 2023.

It's a simple concept - virtually everyone's done it! Except, to spice things up a tad, we've chosen to do something a bit different. Instead of retreading old ground yet once more, we've decided to limit our list to products that are available via the 2Game store.

This works out to a simple setup. If you end up liking the idea of a game we've showcased, that means you can get it immediately via 2Game. Often at a substantial discount, too! So, strap right in because there's no room to dawdle: you're in for quite the show with some of the very best PC games around!

Top 100 PC Games - The Finest 2Game Titles of 2023

It's immediately worth keeping in mind that a game had to have been amazing to have made its way onto this list. To be sure, it's a subjective overview, but many great titles couldn't make it on here simply due to there being a limited number of slots available. This is a top 100 PC games list, after all, and PC gaming includes the best of the best.

In other words, no matter which game you find on this list, we can vouch for its quality and fun factor. These really are the best PC games on the market. Preferences notwithstanding, of course!

Top 10

#10: Armored Core 6

Though it has, generally, gone under the radar compared to From Software's gargantuan super-hit, Elden RingArmored Core 6 is easily one of the best games you could play in this day and age. You read us right: it's more than just a phenomenal mecha fighting game: it's a flagship action experience that keeps you entertained from the start until the very end, and we genuinely believe that almost every profile of gamer will find something to enjoy here.

The truth is that From Software surprised us with just how different Armored Core 6 is from a mainstream Souls game. Whereas we initially expected the game to lean more heavily towards some of FromSoft's more recent work, it fully stands on its own two (mechanical) feet. Some of its missions are only minutes long, but they are all razor-sharp and satisfying, with excellent controls and armament choices no matter what niche you specialize your mech in.

Oh, and did we mention customization by chance? There. Is. Loads.

  • Action Role-Playing Game

#9: Civilization VI

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Civilization 6

As thrilled as we are to see more movement in the 4X civ-building genre than ever before, it's hard to top Firaxis' latest Civilization game. To put things simply, Civ VI is a delight no matter how you flip it. Doubly so if you end up splurging for the DLC-upgraded Anthology edition.

Civilization VI matches can be as fast and snappy as you want (or don't want them to be). Will you pour all of your efforts into one endless, infinitely-progressive super-campaign? Will you blitz through games as quickly as possible? All the options are on the table with Civ VI.

The most important part, though, is definitely the fact that the game is so fun to play. No matter which civ you choose, and no matter whether you play solo or in multiplayer, very few games have quite as much to offer. So much so in fact that it can sometimes be quite hard to keep track of it all!

#8: DOOM 2016

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Doom 2016

There was a lot of discussion on whether the 2016 refresh of Doom or its successor, Doom Eternal, were to make their way onto the top 10 list. The reason we ended up going with Doom 2016, in the end, is that it came basically out of nowhere and single-handedly revitalized the franchise.

Now, it's also worth pointing out that Doom Eternal really leaned more heavily into its arcadey retrofit of the boomer shooter gameplay loop. Doom 2016, on the other hand, is more plain and pointed, therefore significantly more palatable to a wider array of players.

No other FPS handles its no-nonsense stance quite as well as Doom does. Slayer proved that he was the perfect stand-in for the gameplay-focused player. Nonchalant and delightfully brutal, this is probably the ultimate arcade FPS you could play on PC.

#7: Dishonored

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Dishonored

Now, we fully believe that Dishonored 2 did almost everything better than Dishonored did. It's a bigger, more comprehensively realized experience. With more content and with some of the finest level design in all of gaming. Why not go with Dishonored 2, then?

The reason is, in fact, really simple: Dishonored can be played as a standalone one-off. There's a purity of purpose in this game. While it's hard to say that Dishonored 2 suffered from bloat (it did not), its immediate predecessor was a way leaner and more effective gameplay experience.

It's also important to note that Dishonored was one of the first modern immersive sims. Its unique visual style means it has aged far more gracefully than any of its contemporaries, too, making it a must-play even as we roll up on the early 2030s.

#6: Total War: Warhammer III

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Warhammer 3

The latest and greatest iteration of the revered Total Warhammer franchise delivers some much-needed improvements to the core gameplay formula, though this didn't happen without its own growing pains. The focus falls squarely on its ridiculous amount of content, integration with the two previous games in the series (and their respective DLCs!), and the fact that it's just a joy to play.

Easily, this is the biggest grand strategy game ever conceived. Consider it an obvious virtualization of the tabletop fantasy Warhammer, because that's essentially what it is.

With a hefty handful of unique game modes, an immense super-campaign mode (in beta at this time, mind), plenty of multiplayer doodads, and more, Warhammer 3 is a dream come true for fans of the franchise. And, it's an ongoing production, meaning it's only going to get better with time!

#5: Monster Hunter World (Iceborne Master Edition)

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Monster Hunter

Even though Rise has come out to fan adoration and critical acclaim, Monster Hunter World is impossible to ignore on any top 100 PC games' list. Effectively Capcom's first proper foray into getting the series to perform on this platform, World proved that it could be done. On top of that, it proved that Capcom could pull it off well.

As annoying as it may have been to receive post-launch content months after it had been launched on PC, World and its Iceborne expansion pack now stand as a testament to the platform's versatility. World is an immensely enjoyable experience from start to bottom, and the ultimate Monster Hunter game so far.

#4: Cities: Skylines

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Skylines

It's almost hard to believe that we've not had a proper city-builder since the launch of Cities: Skylines back in 2015. Six years on, the romp continues. New DLCs, new Workshop mods, new ways to build the city we had always wanted to build.

What the developers have done with this game is nothing short of incredible. They not only managed to beat back the then-revered SimCity franchise for good, but they also managed to establish an incredible strategy sandbox that would continue to host years' worth of content and development in the future.

We're still convinced that there's a Cities: Skylines 2 project in production, but it doesn't seem like we'll be seeing that in practice anytime soon. In the meantime, this really is as good as it gets for city-building sims.

#3: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Anniversary Edition)

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Skyrim

We know, we know - Skyrim is a meme in and of itself. It certainly speaks to the quality of the game that Bethesda's managed to put out, though, that it's getting comprehensive updates and upgrades, even 10 years past its prime.

Sadly, Starfield hasn't yet been able to get even close to dethroning Skyrim, but it's still lacking proper DLC and modding support. Hell, at this point, not even TES VI might have the sort of pull needed to do this right. And so, Skyrim remains extremely high on our top 100 PC games list.

Not because it's been relaunched yet once more, but because it's still uniquely relevant, fun to play, and loaded with fun, engaging content across the board. Note that we haven't even touched upon mods here, and that's an immense boon for the game's longevity all of its own.

#2: Crusader Kings III

Top 100 PC Games 2022: Crusader Kings 3

This is a grand strategy/RPG combo where players get to control an entire lineage of medieval rulers. It's primarily a UI-driven experience, for sure, and most of your time playing is effectively spent fiddling around with glorified Excel sheets.

To call Crusader Kings III engaging, though, would be doing it a disservice. The game is engrossing to a ridiculous degree. Whether you're actually trying to keep your last ruler's head on their shoulders, or if you're just in it for the funsies, CKIII offers more than most players could ever wish for.

It is massive, infinitely replayable, and incredibly fun, and we feel that it encapsulates everything that makes PC gaming good. Of course, it has also been set aside by a newer game...

#1: Elden Ring

Elden Ring DLC: Article Pic 5

In most cases, the GOTY deliberations of 2022 were going to boil down to one of two very particular games. The first was, obviously, God of War: Ragnarok, which sits in a category all of its own. Whoever chose that piece of art as their GOTY - hats off to you, we've got nothing to complain about. In our case, though, Elden Ring is actually available on PC, making it an easy choice even though the year has had a number of top-notch game releases.

Look, we won't argue with the fact that Elden Ring is still partially broken on PC. The lack of universal aspect ratio and framerate support is rather confusing in this day and age. But... it's a phenomenal game. Easily one of the best RPGs ever created and, depending on whether you like your Soulslikes structured or not, it's also the best of all of From Software's existing output.

Everything points to there being a substantial DLC release early in 2024, and we're very excited to see what that ends up being all about. In the meantime, though, you're going to be extremely hard-pressed to find a better ARPG on the platform.

Closing Thoughts

And there you have it! That concludes our list of the top 100 PC games - as of 2022. 2023 looks like a bit of a horror-themed year in gaming, from what we can tell by now. Resident EvilSilent Hill, and Dead Space are all getting new entries in their respective franchises, for one. How the rest of it develops, though, we'll need to wait and see.
