The simple fact of the matter is that there are too many PC games on the market right now to keep up with them all. Sure, sure, it's a bit of a first-world problem for there to be too many awesome games to play, but simply keeping up with the industry is a challenge in and of itself. If you're a racing game fan, specifically, it's a bit easier to stay on top of things, but it's still a tall order, and that's where we come in!

What we've got for you below is an up-to-date list of all the best PC racing games we stock here at 2Game! Whether through Game Pass or via Steam and Epic Games Store keys, down below you'll find a list of racing and racing-adjacent games that you absolutely need to play as a fan of the genre. Some of these are hyper-realistic, while others are more arcadey. All of them, though, are downright phenomenal, which means you will not be disappointed.

2Game's Best PC Racing Games

As with our other top game highlight lists, we're not interested in comparatively rating titles here. For that, check out our massive (and awesome) top 100 PC games list. Instead, all of the games listed below come in no particular order. As new titles get added, in fact, they will be at the top of the list, so you can easily and quickly keep up with all the latest additions whenever you check back in. Which you ought to do, really: if a new racing game worthy of your time and money comes out, it'll be on this list!

Something to keep in mind here is that certain featured titles are only available via the Xbox Game Pass. This isn't bad news, though: you can get your Game Pass using the featured 2Game link (usually at a discount, mind) and immediately have access to a ridiculously massive list of games at no additional charge. At that point, racing games are just scratching the surface of what else you can play, but we're going off-track now. We recommend you give Game Pass a shot, is what we're saying. If that's not your forte though, there's a bunch of delightful one-time-purchase offerings available below, so have fun!

Redout 2

For the sci-fi-minded racing game fan, there's nothing else quite like Redout 2. In this game, putting the pedal to the metal means screaming down the track like a banshee at over 1,000 km/h. Redout 2's anti-gravity hovercrafts are incredibly customizable, too, which means you're getting all the usual racing game tropes, except in a super-speedy futuristic package.

Redout 2 doesn't pull any punches when it comes to its ridiculous rendition of speed. You'll race across the entire Milky Way on increasingly challenging tracks against increasingly difficult opponents. Obviously, this isn't a huge draw if you're into more realistic racing experiences, but those aren't all that common nowadays, and it helps that Redout 2 remains compelling no matter where you go and what you do.

Motorsport Manager

Motorsport Manager isn't technically a racing game, but it sure as heck is a game about racing, which is fair enough. If you ever played Gran Turismo 5's GT-Spec mode and felt like you'd enjoy a full-fledged game made in that same style... well, here it is, with all the bells and whistles you could ask for!

Broadly, Motorsport Manager asks you to set up a stable of drivers, scientists, mechanics, and designers to follow you on your enterprise adventures. You'll field your team across a variety of different racing classes and championships, from open-wheel to GT-tier, so there's something to enjoy here no matter your preference.

Wreckfest

Coming from the good people who made the original FlatOut games - in case you couldn't tell - Wreckfest is an absolutely phenomenal destruction derby game. Its incredible physics and destruction models also mean that the driving feels incredible, no matter how pummeled your vehicle might be. It's a safe recommendation no matter your preferences.

Do keep in mind, though, that Wreckfest isn't purely about crashing. Sure, there are some game modes where that's the be-all-end-all, but racing is the name of the day no matter what, which makes this a great choice whether you're a fan of physics-driven madness or not!

Assetto Corsa

A true sim-racing classic, Assetto Corsa is one of those games you absolutely do need to own if you're a fan of this genre. Compared to its immediate successor, Assetto Corsa offers an excellent driving model with a huge amount of variety both officially and unofficially, via mods. So, if these things appeal to you, you know what to do.

In fact, we'd like to highlight Assetto Corsa's modding community in particular, which will easily keep you coming back to this game over and over and over again, for years on end. It's truly a gift that keeps on giving, and we cannot recommend the game enough even on the basis of mods alone.

Assetto Corsa Competizione

Whereas Assetto Corsa attempts to give you ample variety to keep you busy, Competizione is laser-focused on one thing and one thing only: a top-tier, cutting-edge GT racing experience. You're getting a smaller, more focused roster of vehicles and tracks with a stricter (up-to-date FIA) rule set, as well as a more advanced technology stack, better graphics, and arguably more realistic car handling.

Once again, Competizione does not have the original AC's incredible modding community to show for it. Instead, its appeal is that it's singularly focused in a way that most other racing games are not, and you know what you're getting. For fans of multiplayer racing, in particular, this is the way to go for sure.

Hotshot Racing

Back to arcades we go with Hotshot Racing. For those who aren't keen on modern, hyper-realistic racing experiences, Hotshot Racing is the way to go, as the game revels in its legacy arcade cabinet inspirations. Heck, you even get access to full-blooded four-player local co-op with split-screen functionality, which is virtually unheard of nowadays. 16 circuits, a bunch of real-world-adjacent vehicles, and a classically drift-inspired driving system make this a delight.

Fact of the matter, too, is that Hotshot Racing is a genre example that woefully underrepresented in the modern racing game scene, which makes it a bit of a unicorn no matter how you look at it.

Forza Horizon 5

What could possibly be said about Forza Horizon 5 outside of immense praise? This is, easily, the best arcade-adjacent open-world racing game on PC right now, with almost 1,000 high-quality vehicles, two major DLCs, and oodles of bonus purchasable cars to chase after. The driving model, too, is amazingly satisfying and seasonal content releases will easily keep you coming back for more, again and again. Oh and hey, it's on GamePass!

One thing that some of you may be critical is FH5's FOMO: the game rotates content, events, and vehicles very, very quickly, which can make it a bit difficult to keep up with. On the flip side, this also makes Forza Horizon 5 perfect for those who want a genuinely living, breathing game that will keep changing over time regardless of your input. It's pretty great when you look at it that way.

Forza Motorsport

As opposed to Forza Horizon 5Forza Motorsport is a tad rougher around the edges, less FOMO-reliant, and more focused on the actually realistic motorsport side of things, but it's slowly growing into the game it's always meant to be. One thing we've noticed is that, if you're more of a simcade fan, you will have a hard time going back to Forza Horizon 5's driving model after having fun with Forza Motorsport. It's just that much more satisfying, all things considered! Forza Motorsport, too, is available to play via GamePass, which we recommend.

What's Your Next Racing Experience on PC?

Long gone are the days of low-poly racing, unless that's specifically the sort of thing you crave! Nowadays, hyper-realism is the name of the game - literally - and enabling new racing experiences in an almost life-like manner is the way the racing game genre has been pushing. In most ways that matter, PC is the place to be if you want to experience the very pinnacle of the racing genre, and the games featured above will give you the full gamut of niches within that scope.

One game we'd love to see and play on PC is, naturally, Gran Turismo 7, but given how hard Sony and PlayStation have been pushing the platform over the past couple of years, you never know what might be getting announced next. In the interim, we think you'll find yourself hard-pressed not to have fun with games on this list, and we stand behind each and every one of our recommendations no matter what. Once again, stay tuned: we keep this list topped-up with the best new releases as they come out, so do stick around!
