Though combat certainly plays a major role in Manor Lords, as we recently explained, it's completely understandable that it's a feature that not everyone might want to interact with. Manor Lords is, after all, a city-builder first and foremost, and real-time strategy combat isn't what some players will be looking for, here. It's good news, then, that you can disable combat in Manor Lords!

How to Turn Off Combat in Manor Lords?
If you'd like to entirely ignore Manor Lords' combat mechanics, you can simply select the 'Rise to Prosperity' difficulty setting during the creation of your new match! If, however, you'd prefer to keep combat around but make it rarer, with a longer grace period at the start of the match, be sure to tweak the 'Raider Frequency' and 'Raider-Free Years' options, respectively.
We'll be honest here: Manor Lords' most appealing feature for the editorial team here at 2Game is the building of a medieval townscape. And, for sure, we know combat used to be more commonplace than it is today, but it's still nice that the developer thought to include not one but several different combat tuning options to choose from. This shows great perspective and, if all goes well, Manor Lords may well end up being the ultimate medieval city-builder by the time its 1.0 version rolls up.
So, if you steered clear from Manor Lords because you don't enjoy combat in your city-building games, then rest assured that the developer is happy to accommodate a huge variety of different playstyles even today, this early in the game's development. Plenty more good things to come, we're certain!
