As some of you are bound to know, 2Game is the official sponsor of a major Football Manager Twitch championship! For weeks now, the good hosts of the FM Premier championship have been hosting a number of leagues and cups with almost 100 managers competing for the prizes! And yes - there are prizes. Ones you'll be very interested in, we reckon.

Featuring various competitions that are being played out over the course of 24 weeks total, there's a whole lot of excitement surrounding this championship.  Down below, we'll go over all the important bits and pieces, as well as give you all the links you might be interested in. Have fun!

Football Manager Twitch Championship: What is it?

The Football Manager Twitch Championship is precisely what it says on the tin: a series of fun FM21 competitions that attempts to emulate the key parts of every football manager's daily routine. From the nitty-gritty of matches themselves all the way to post-game interviews that are every bit as cheeky as you'd expect them to be. Even if you're not too keen on the sport itself - which is unlikely, we bet -  there's much to love here. The hosts always get a great atmosphere going and it's a proper hoot.

As we mentioned before, there are 92 competing managers, and they're taking part in 4 competitions during the 2021 season. What makes these competitions particularly interesting for us today is that 2Game is sponsoring them! That's right: the lucky winners will receive special vouchers to purchase awesome games with. And that comes on top of all the good times that are bound to happen during the competition. If you're already intrigued and find yourself wishing for a more granular take on the whole shindig, look no further: the official website of the tourney's got you covered.

Elsewise, you'll find a short summary of all the important stuff down below.

The Latest Scoop: End of March Update

As of March 23rd, The Football Manager League Cup has officially been wrapped up! The exact results will be coming soon, and we'll post a link to the announcement soon as it goes live. In the meantime, many other gears have been spinning in the background. Here are the most important happenings in short order:

  • The FM FA Cup is set to start in just a couple of short weeks, with it likely taking place over 7 weeks in total: applications will begin shortly, so stay tuned for that
  • The FM Premier League is currently in its tenth week of operation out of nineteen total
  • Football Manager Championship is currently in its ninth week of operation out of twenty-three weeks total

All in all, where one door closes, a new one opens, so if you were itching for an opportunity to show your skills in this growing community, you'll have your chance soon enough. Alternatively, if you're just interested in watching the matches, there's heaps of exciting content ahead. Plenty to look forward to, as we're sure you'll agree!

Competitions & Cups

As we've already established, there are four major competitions that 2Game is sponsoring this year:

  • The FM Premier League: 20 Managers, 19 weeks of runtime
  • Football Manager Championship: 24 Managers, 23 weeks of runtime

As you'd expect, the FM Premier League is designed with the actual football Premier League in mind, while the FM Championship looks to the official EFL Championship for general formatting and rules. This means that, long as you're even vaguely familiar with these leagues, you've got the general gist of what the FMPL is going for.

In addition to these major events, there are two ongoing Cups, too:

  • The FM FA Cup
  • Football Manager League Cup

While not each and every match-up is live-streamed on Twitch, all the important events are. This means that the FMPL has established an ongoing rotation of events that's pretty darn similar to that of the real-world championships and leagues. If you were hoping to find something that's still relevant and running, and where you might get to meet a whole community of gamers interested in the same niche as you - this is the spot.

Central Structure and Streaming Schedule

If we were to go into real depths with the rules and specific features of each of these competitions hosted by FMPL, we'd end up with a massive, tens-of-thousands-of-words sort of monstrosity, and you'd end up asking what the hell is wrong with us.

Instead, we've chosen to direct you to FMPL's official info-drops, and all you need to do is to choose which interests you the most:

In most cases, they even host a cool 'Meet the Managers' sort of thing where you can see who's playing and what their tactics might be. All in all, stellar organization all around, though we will admit that the streaming schedule does seem a tad erratic at times.

This isn't due to lack of forethought, mind. Instead, there's a whole bunch of competitions running for weeks on end, and the FMPL is basically streaming them as they go. To always stay in the loop, be sure to keep track of their official Twitter account, as all the streams and important drops of info are announced there.

Rewards!

Finally! The rewards! If this is the part you've been waiting for - rejoice. You'll find all the juicy deets here.

Where to Watch the Football Manager Premier League Content?

Naturally, on Twitch! Virtually the entirety of the FMPL is available on Twitch at this point. The platform has - so far - proved itself a perfect choice for the kind of competition the hosts are running here. Not a major surprise, of course, since the platform's very existence is predicated on its appeal to streamers.

Either way, if you're interested in having a look-see, you can always check out the previous uploads to get a sense of what's what. Alternatively, while the schedule is a tad erratic overall, subscribing to the FMPL Twitter will be a good way to keep track of things, as we already suggested.

How to Join the Competition?

As you've probably guessed by now, you cannot currently join in on the championship. Since all the events are currently underway, there's really no way for you to start competing this season. However, there's always the next season to be looking forward to. With more competing managers, more rewards, more awesome events, and more cool stuff all around.

To stay on top of general Football Manager Twitch championship happenings, your best bet will be to bookmark the official FM Premier League website and stay tuned for pre-season announcements. There will be a sign-up period for FM hopefuls, and you'll have your shot at glory, too. Everyone does!

Do keep in mind that some matches are played out in Football Manager 21 Touch, while others may run on the base version of the game. As ever, you're going to want to keep an eye on official rulesets and announcements.

That's about everything we've got so far! If nothing else, be sure to tune in and say hi to the hosts, who are doing a tremendous job so far. You're in for some stellar banter, too, which may be the real star of the show. Have fun!
