Though 2023's been one of the best years in gaming - ever - it's not even remotely close to being done just yet! Starfield is due to launch in just a few weeks' time, for one, but in the time interim, we've got something even more exciting for a certain audience. Notably, if you're From Software fan, then you'll already know that Armored Core 6 PC is coming out on August 25!

That's what made us think now was the time to take a deep breath and go over all the key facts about the game! As we're most interested in the game's PC version, specifically, we're sticking with a low starting position in case we need a PC optimization guide ready on launch day. Even if that ends up being the case, though, FromSoft does not disappoint, and we've not a sliver of doubt that Armored Core 6 will knock our proverbial socks off.

Everything to Keep in Mind About Armored Core 6 PC

Something to keep in mind right off the start is that we already have a PC preparation article ready for Armored Core 6. If you're interested in getting your setup to its best possible form ahead of the game's release, that's the article to check out! If, however, you'd like to move on to a more generalized overview of all the key bits, like the system requirements, pre-order content, and discount availability, this is the place to be. Let's get to it!

Official Release Date

Armored Core 6 PC: article 3

To kick things off proper, the obviously most important piece of information here is the PC release date of Armored Core 6! The game is due to launch on August 25, 2023. If you're reading this article at the time of publication, that gives you exactly one week of prep time before AC6: Fires of Rubicon launches!

There's no early access period, however, unlike with Starfield. Instead, everyone's going to be jumping into FromSoft's new blockbuster at the same time, and that means the 2Game editorial team, too. With that in mind, we expect loads of guides and explanation articles over the course of the week following the game's release!

If you just cannot contain your hype, you may wish to tune into Bandai Namco's official Twitch channel, where the studio is hosting long-form gameplay and lore streams as of August 18!

PC Pre-Order Offers & Discounts

2Game wouldn't be 2Game if we didn't have an awesome Armored Core 6 PC discount already in place - and we do! In fact, you can get a de-lightful 16% off on both Armored Core 6 and Armored Core 6: Deluxe Edition, which comes with a phenomenally detailed digital art book and a copy of the game's soundtrack. These boons won't be a huge deal to most gamers, but they're a must-have if you're a From Software fan or an AC fan: either works.

Of course, the Deluxe Edition of the game is slightly more expensive. It's well worth the price of admission if you fall into one of the categories outlined above, however, and speaking out of previous experience, we're all but absolutely certain that both the art book and the soundtrack will be phenomenal. It's FromSoft, guys and gals!

Hardware Requirements

Armored Core 6 PC: article 1

The last big point of contention: will Armored Core 6 even run on your rig? Or will it be too much to bear? We do know that the game will - surprisingly enough- target a high refresh rate and will support non-standard aspect ratios. That's a big win for FromSoft right there, but it's not alone! If you can believe it, AC6 has lower system requirements than Elden Ring, which is a great sign for those of us still stuck on low-spec machines. Here are all the deets for your consideration.

Minimum Hardware Requirements for Armored Core 6

  • 64-bit CPU and OS
  • OS: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K / Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 7 1800X / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • RAM: 12 GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 / AMD Radeon RX 480
  • VRAM: 4 GB
  • DirectX version 12
  • Storage: 60 GB of available space

Recommended Hardware Requirements for Armored Core 6

  • 64-bit CPU and OS
  • OS: Windows 10/11
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 / Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 7 2700 X / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: 12 GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 590 / Intel Arc A750
  • VRAM: 8 GB
  • DirectX version 12
  • Storage: 60 GB of available space

The reduced system requirements compared to Elden Ring do make a lick of sense, it's worth pointing out. AC6 is not an open-world game, and therefore won't be pushing FromSoft in quite the same way as its predecessor did a few years back. We'll admit that the recommended GTX 1060 is slightly strange, but we won't know how the ancient GPU fares until we finally have the game in our paws. The current conclusion, though, is that things are looking up.
